Trading Card Games
Hello,
In case anyone plays Magic, there's a prerelease tournament this Sunday 12/29 in Fukui and it'd be neat to see you there. Prereleases are a very special kind of tournament because they're designed to be as casual and cutthroat-free as possible since they're the debut of a new set which nobody has played with before. Everyone will be experiencing this set for the very first time on Sunday. Prereleases are great jumping-on points for people new to organized play, and they are designed to be as welcoming as possible. Granted I haven't played in a Japanese prerelease before, but I know from playing in the last set's launch party that the community is perfectly welcoming and they even speak pretty workable English, especially if you're already familiar with Magic, then you already share a language with everyone.

The new set's launch party, another tournament in the same vein as the prerelease--only it's a week after the prerelease and commences the official release of the set--is February 5th: http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/armarx932/29185751.html
If you're coming, please consider bringing sleeves. Beyond that, paper, pencil, and nourishment are good ideas.
It's at 10am Sunday and it's about a 40 minute walk from the JR Fukui Station.
If you need any more information or are ever in Katsuyama and want to play some casual Magic or Duel Masters or even learn how to play these wonderful games, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'm basically starting both games over since all my English cards are in the US, so we're all probably just as green as each other.
Okay,
