RAD IOHE AD_IN/OSAKA !

Radiohead finally released the rest of the dates for their Japan Tour 2008. They will be playing two shows in Osaka on Oct. 1 and 2 and two shows in Tokyo on the 3rd and 4th.

I, for one, will definitely be attending one of these shows. Most likely the Oct. 2 show in Osaka (Thursday), perhaps taking that friday off and making a weekend of it. Tickets are a bit steep, but id probably do unspeakable things to see them play in japan.

Tickets go on sale May 17th, so if there are some other people interested in going it might make sense to try to get a bunch of tickets together at once. Let me know if your interested...

hi chris.. im kim from trninidad. im not in japan as yet, ill be arriving with group b in august..  but i AM indeed a Radio head fan.. how much will the tickets cost?

Hey.

The tickets for Radiohead's Japan tour went on sale in the US in April. I debated the idea of buying them for Tokyo, but didn't because I was not sure I would be able to attend.  I have seen Radiohead live twice, and would like to go again. The Saturday show in Tokyo is sold out, but there are tickets for Sunday.  And the two Osaka shows for Wednesday or Thursday still have availability.  But can new JETs plan on taking a day off in October?

I would love to go.  Let me know.

Oh, tickets are 9500 yen, which is around 80 US dollars.  --K

Hey Kim,

Looks like you've gotten your hands on most of the information for Radiohead. A group of us will all be heading down to Osaka for the Oct. 2 show and you should definitely come if your interested. The price is indeed 9500 yen, though it might work out to be more expensive buying them from overseas. You can buy them easily in Japan and though I dont know if they will sell out before you get there, it took the Tokyo show a long time to sell out. If you really want to go, though, you might want to go ahead and buy them...

In terms of getting time off right away, I can`t really tell you one way or the other since it`s up to your school. However, if you were to tell them quite soon after you get there, thus giving them a months advance notice, they might be flexible.

Either way, its Radiohead and you need to decide your priorities!

Awesome, hope that helps and don`t hestitate to ask any more questions.

Theres a whole bevy of good shows during the summer, but unfortunately you probably won't be here for most of them. Summer Sonic and Fuji Rock are the two biggest festivals of the summer if you want to check them out online. I'll be going to Fuji Rock and I CAN'T WAIT.

Osaka seems to get a pretty good influx of foreign groups throughout the year and it's quite easy to get down there for a show when you want to. Check out this website for current tour dates and venues:

Hi,

I am Lucia, a new person to the FJET community... I was looking around the Forum and found this thread and decided to look up with Summer Sonic was..

And I have found that it is a lot like Bamboozle here in the states, to my knowledge I will be in Japan for this, and I am considering bringing extra cash to catch this...

Is anyone going to this event? It looks great and they have an amazing line up. Is it worth it? Has anyone been to??? It comes up to roughly 145$ While Bamboozle was $50...

Best,

Lucia

Anyone goin to  coldpay in Osaka or kyto on the 9th or 10th august?

Hey!

I'm totally down for Summer Sonic in Osaka Day 1. Are you interested? I just have to find out whether I can because I'm a newbie...

HELLS YEAH!!! i checked the fjet calendar.. doesnt look like anything is planned yet!

For all the new Jets interested in going to Summer Sonic,

As far as I know, you'll be done with all of your orientation responsibilities.  That being said, you'll only have been in Japan for a week or two and the first couple weeks can be a bit crazy... so basically it's up to you if you want to go down to Osaka and check out the show. My only advice would be to wait until you get to Fukui, check out your apartment and that whole situation and then see if you're up to it.

It's not all that difficult to get to Osaka and if you find some other people that have been to Osaka or if you are already Nihongo jouzu, then go for it.
