Kayaking Down South

By cindy.chen - Posted on 11 August 2010

Hey guys,

This is a question for our Southerners... I heard someone mention somewhere sometime ago about kayaking down south near Obama... I might have dreamt up that entire conversation, but that sounds like something fun to do in the summer time. Does anyone have a clue what I'm talking about? And if so, does anyone have any details about the kayaking? Most importantly, do they rent the kayaks, or should I start chopping down trees?

Any information would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

This might be coming a little late but here's a link to information about kayaking in Mikata:
* You can also find information about horseriding and river rafting on this page.

The site is in Japanese but here's what to expect for kayaking:

● Time: 9:00~、13:00~ (two chances to kayak per day)
● Duration: 3 hours("tea time" is included)
● Costs:1person 7,800yen(1 kayak fits 2 people, up to 6 people (3 kayaks) can go out at one time)
**This fee includes the costs for the use of the kayak, a guide, accident insurance, use of their facilities which inlcude a sento (?) and break room.
● Things to bring: Swimsuit, goggles, flipflops, a towel, and sunscreen
● I think this means that at 1 adult must be in a kayak... 1艇に大人1人が同乗すること
