Getting a pre-paid phone
Hi Guys,
My parents want me to organise a pre-paid phone for them when they're in Japan for about 3 weeks. Has anyone ever organised this before? I'm not sure where to start, whether I just walk into softbank and ask them about it or what?!
Would appreciate any advice lots and lots!

My sister had a phone when she came for silver week. It's super easy and fairly cheap. At Kansai airport there are tons of different booths offering rental phones. There are tons of packages, too. I think my sister had a cheap package, where she could receive calls for free, but calling out cost her and sending texts cost her. So basically she would call me and hang up and I would call her back. There is a daily charge for the phone of about 200 or 300 yen, and then a charge for usage.
You can get lots of packages with international calling and, you know, all the bells and whistles. Whatever. This is all I have experience with, but there are so many places in the airport to choose from. Then when your parents leave, all they do is return the phone to the booth and it gets charged to their card.
Like I said, these places all vary so if you want you can check em out with your parents when they arrive.
Thanks Kamielle! That helped so much!
They fly into Narita so I hope it's the same system there-- I presume it would be :)
I used to work with one of the companies that rent cellphones at Narita.
here's there website.
I know there are many other companies so you can just walk in and ask for one.
