FJET.org is for Everyone
So many festivals.
So many events.
It's hard to keep track of everything so let's help each other out with...
☆FJET.org☆ The website for all FJETs and foreign Fukuians to use and view!
Know of something interesting going on in your neighborhood? Got some useful advice or info to share with your fellow JETs? Post it here on good ol' FJET.org!
See that "Post Something!" tab? It's yours to use! (Of course you have to have an account on this site first, but that's easy to get set up once you click "join" there at the top of the page.)
Everyone has the ability to post on the forums, event calendar and even the front page. As those who teach at JHSs know, "Communication is important." (The Sacred Text of New Horizon 2, p.40). Let's heed that advice and help each other have an awesome time in Fukui!
Fukui International Festival at the FIA
Do you want to have fun with kids at the Fukui International Festival? YES!
When: October 23rd (Sunday) from 10-4
You can come for as little or as much as you'd like (though we'd like you to stay!)
We promise it'll be fun.
What: we need face painters, bakers to make goodies for our cake walk, and anyone who wants to be a fairy tale character!
That's right, this year's theme is fairy tales.
Please let us know which fabulous story creature you'd like to represent and we will welcome you with open arms.
Also, please let us know if you have any game ideas or anything else you'd like to see at the festival.
One more note - if you are interested in performing at the festival (music, dancing, singing, etc), please please email Ms. Kishida at info@f-i-a.or.jp by September 29th.
Please let us know ASAP at fjetliaison (at) gmail (dot com) so we can get an idea of how many volunteers we have.
THANKS!
Your Community Liaisons,
Nadia & Lindsay
Hello from Family Net Part II: Is your application in?
Hey again! How's Fukui life treating you so far?
Continue settling in, relax and get to know Fukui better as we help you make friends with some awesome locals! Run by a team of FJETs and Fukuians since 1997, Family Net is here to promote cultural exchange and make your time in Fukui a bit more memorable. There are quite a few families here looking to share their lives and culture with you. These folks would also love to learn more about your life and home! Family Net is not a home stay program, but in addition to introducing you to new friends, Family Net also organizes and hosts a few events during the year for you and your family to enjoy. Joining the program costs ¥1,000 which goes to support these events.
If you're interested in joining the Family Net program, download the application here http://fjet.org/files/familynet/fn-application.doc. The download should start automatically. Complete the application and send it to fjet.familynet@gmail.com by Friday, August 26th. We'll do our best to find friends near you!
Oh! Keep September 11th open because that's when we'll introduce you to your new friends ♥
From us and your future host families and friends, welcome to Fukui and see you soon!

Car Rally and Sayonara Party!!
Hi Everyone,
A big thank you to Laura and Grainne for organizing a successful Car Rally this past weekend. Also, thank you to those who volunteered at the challenge stations. I think I can speak for everyone who participated that it was simply a load of fun! We hope the Car Rally inspired more people to explore Fukui's southern towns in the future. Congratulations to the Gifu team that took home the champion title this year. They definitely deserved it.
Coming up next is the annual Sayonara Party, where we all get really dressed up and give a tearful and heartfelt farewell to the Leavers. If you have pictures, please forward them to Spencer, our slideshow creator. The superlatives go straight to Ashley and Nicky. Look forward to see you there. Yummy food and 5 hours of nomihodai are calling.
That's all for now. Please continue to visit the forum and say hello to next year's newcomers.

Welcome to our new 2011 JETs!
We have already seen a good number of new JETs posting in our forums.
To all incomers who have not introduced yourselves - please mosey, meander, or otherwise make your way on over to the forums section and post up something!
FJET is the Fukui chapter of the nationwide AJET group.
Just to brag, We are the best - we have lots of trophies, shirts, and certificates that we made that say so!
We hope you can use this page to answer your questions, alleviate your worries, and lighten your wallets (seriously! we sell a lot of $#|T!)
A simple tip to help get more out of this site is - Don't be afraid to ask questions - we have a highly excited and seemingly trained staff of other JETs to answer any and all questions!
Safe travels!

Welcome from the FJET Presidents
Hello to all you incoming, outgoing, and current Fukui JETs!
We are the 2011-2012 FJET Co-Presidents, Cindy Chen and Omar Mohamed.
FJET, the Fukui Chapter of National Association of JETs, exists to help you and all Fukui JETs by being the informational hub of a strong community of more than 100 teachers. We strive to achieve this goal by writing useful documents, helping with Fukui Orientation, and organizing various events and trips to help keep you involved during your time in Fukui.
Please come visit us in our FORUM to introduce yourself and ask any questions.
We are excited for the wonderful year to come and hope that you will all join us for our many events throughout the year!
